1. Admissions
How to join Joy to the World / 入園方法
If you are interested in joining our school, please follow these five steps.
- Visit our school either privately or at a joint session.
- Turn in a completed application.
- We will evaluate your application, and may ask for a student assesment.
- Pay all intial fees and tuition
- After all the steps are complete, you will be a member.
During the interview we will provide all information about our school principles and system. We are happy to answer all of your questions. We would like to request you to come to the interview without your children so that we can conduct the interview effectively. If it is difficult for you to leave your children at home, please make sure to contact us in advance.

- 学校見学&インタビュー（個人または合同学校説明会）
- 入学願書に必要事項を記入漏れのないよう記入の上、ご提出ください
- 審査（お子様にアセスメントを受けていただく場合がございます）
- 入園に関する費用及び学費をお支払いください
- 入学手続き完了
本校への入学をご検討されている方、入園をご希望の方は入学相談の予約をお取りください。入学相談は本校の教育指導方針や教育内容を知って頂く非常に良い機会です。ゆっくりとお話をお伺いさせていただくために、できるだけ保護者の方のみでご来校ください。お子様と同伴でしか来校できない際は、必ず事前にご連絡ください。
Special Concerns / ご入園に際して
Mid-Year Start/途中入園について
If you are starting from the 2nd Term or later, you will be asked to sign up for the following school year and, in most cases, may be asked for full payment in order to secure the seat.
２学期またはそれ以降からご入園の場合は翌年度の全学期分も併せてのサインアップをしていただきます。また、学席の空き状況によってはこの時点で翌年度分の学費もお納めいただくことがありますことをご了承ください。
Refunds and Returns/ 返金／返品について
School lunch, uniforms, and event photo discs/dvds are ordred from outside private vendors and so we do not offer returns or refunds on these items.
スクールランチ、ユニフォーム、各イベントのフォトディスクやDVDは学校外部の業者に発注しているためこれらの商品についての返品や返金は行っておりません。
Elementary School Entrance Exception/小学校への進学の場合の例外
For K3 students who will be graduate and continue in international education, we will provide you with consultation so that you do not incur unnecessary cancellation fees etc. while waiting for acceptance letters from elementary school. Please make an appointment if that becomes necessary.
K３のお子様で卒園後インターナショナルスクールへの進学をご検討されているご家族につきましては、小学校からの入学許可が出るまで不要なキャンセル料などをお支払いいただかずに済むように個別にミーティングを致します。必要な場合はオフィスでミーティングのご予約をお取りください。
Schedule Changes (Joy Tots and Pre-Kindergarten)/スケジュール変更（Joy Tots & Pre-Kindergarten)
Each year we get many requests to change after the sign-up period. In order to make a change, there is a ¥2000 administrative fee that is made at the time of the request and does not guarantee that the change is possible. In addition, instead of re-calculating the fee difference of the new schedule, we will instead add the new schedule. For example, if you signed up for a 2-day program, and ask to increase to a 5-day program, we will issue an invoice for a 3-day program.
If you want to add 1 day, we will calculate 50% of a 2 day program.
毎年、サインアップ期間終了後に大変多くの変更リクエストがあります。変更につきましては、各リクエストごとに¥2,000円の手数料がかかりますが、これをお支払いいただいても変更が可能であることを保証するものではございませんのでご注意ください。また、変更により学費に差額が発生する場合は新しいスケジュールとの差額ではなく、追加されたスケジュールの学費を追加する形でのご請求となりますのでご了承ください。例えば、2日コースにサインアップ後5日コースへの変更を希望され場合は、5日コースの学費から2日コースの学費を引いた額では無く、追加された3日コースの金額でのInvoiceを追加として発行いたします。
I'm not sure about my future schedule/先の予定がわからない場合
If you are unsure of your family's future plans due to your job, or because you are waiting for a seat in another school, we recommend that you join our waiting list instead of signing up in order to avoid paying any cancellation fees.
While on the waiting list, we will offer you the seat before it is offered to a new student. Each time you decline you will be moved to the bottom of the list.
お仕事の事情や、他の学校への入学待ちなどの理由によりご家族の先のスケジュールが不明確な場合は、キャンセル料を支払う必要がないように、サインアップではなくウェイティングリストへのお申込みをお勧めいたします。
ウェイティングリストに登録中は、外部の方に学籍をお渡しする前に先に籍確保を希望されるか否かの確認をいたします。これを拒否する毎にお名前はリストの一番下になりますことをご了承ください。
2. Tuition Guidelines
Tuition Changes
Every year we adjust our school tuition based on our running costs, plans for school improvement, and in consideration of external factors such as inflation and changes to the tax rate.
This year, in particular, the external factors play a major role in the tuition increase but are not the only reason. We are always working to improve the quality of our school and our staff in order to provide the best education and care for your children.
We hope you can see the value in Joy to the World and will continue to support us in being one of the best international schools in Tokyo!
毎年当校では、ランニングコスト、学校の改善計画およびインフレや税率の変更などの外的要因を考慮して学費を調整しております。
特に今年は、外的要因が学費の増額に大きな役割を果たしておりますが、それだけが理由ではありません。 私たちは常に皆さまのお子様方に最高の教育とケアをご提供するために、学校とスタッフの質を向上させる様取り組んでいます。

Commitment
Please consider your signup as a contract with the school. When you sign-up we will hold the seat for your child and we are expecting and planning for your child to join for the terms that you have selected.
サインアップは学校とのご契約であるとお考えください。一度サインアップされますと、私たちはそのお子様の為のお席を確保し、お選びいただいた条件でそれぞれの学期に通園されることを前提に様々な準備を致します。
About Tuition
- Tuition rates are based on terms.
- Tuition can be paid by term or by year.
- Because we base our tuition on the number of days offered each term, our prices are different each term.
- Tuition fees cover school attendance and learning materials.
- Support classes, extra-curricular classes and activities, and the Extended Care program are all billed separately.
- Students allowed to enter during the course of a semester must pay a prorated fee for the remainder of the semester and the following semester.
- Fees includes: Utilities, insurance, materials, snacks and drinks.
- A late fee is charged for tuition not received by the due date
- There will be no refund or deduction for any class missed for any reason.
- There will be no make up lessons for classes missed.
- School Insurance covers injuries occurring on and off the school premises and food poisoning caused by school snacks or catered lunch.
- 学費は主に学期制です。
- 学期ごと、または年払いでのお支払方法をお選びいただけます。
- 学期ごとのクラス日数により計算されますので、学費は毎学期異なります。
- 学費には教育費および教材費が含まれています。
- サポートクラス、遠足などの課外活動、延長保育プログラムは別途料金がかかります。
- 学期途中の入学の場合は入学時にその学期の残り日数分の学費と次学期分の学費をご納入いただきます。
- 費用には以下のものが含まれています：光熱費、保険、教材費、 スナック、飲み物。
- ご連絡無くご納入期日を過ぎたものに関しましては、延滞料を請求させて頂きます。
- 如何なる理由での欠席、休学及び退学、また自然条件による休校につきましても一度お支払いいただいた学費の減額や返金は致しません。
- 病気やその他個人的な理由による欠席や自然条件による休校等の場合の 振替レッスンは致しません。
- 保険には校内外でお預かりをしている最中に発生した事故や怪我、また 学校が提供した飲食物や給食による食中毒等が含まれています。
Deposits
Deposits are due 6 to 7 months before the start of the term. When your deposit is paid, your seat is again held until the remainder of the tuition is paid on the due date.
All Morning Programs will have a ¥50,000 deposit per term regardless of the number of days taken. For families using the Annual Payment option, the deposit is ¥150,000.
各学期開始の６ヶ月〜７ヶ月前までに返金不可のデポジットシステムを導入いたします。デポジットのお支払が確認されますと、学費の残金が期日までにご納入されますまで、学席を確保いたします。
デポジットは登園日数に関わらず全モーニングプログラム1Termにつき¥50,000です。年間払いを選択されたご家族のデポジットは¥150,000です。
Coronavirus Safety Policy (August 20, 2021)

This policy is for all programs and services at Joy to the World. Including:Think Club, Keiki Ukulele Club, Kids Hiphop Tokyo, Saturday School, AK, AE (new programs)
In the case of one or more positive coronavirus infections occurring at Joy to the World (student or staff), we will work with the Bunkyo Health Office and may close as a school in keeping with their recommendation or as a safety precaution by Joy to prevent the spread of the virus. In this case, we will not offer refunds, credits, or make-up lessons for canceled classes, Set Extended care, and Bus Maintenance Fees.
However, for lunch service fees, we will issue credits to families affected on the days we close. You can apply lunch service credits towards future services.
We want to remind our families that although we will do our best to continue providing our services to our school community, we take safety very seriously and we thank you for your understanding in the case of a school closure for this reason.

Joy to the World（生徒またはスタッフ内）で1名または複数名の新型コロナウイルス感染症の陽性者が発生した場合、当校は文京区保健所と連携し、ウイルスの拡散を防ぐために文京保健所の勧告に従って、またはJoy to the Worldの安全対策として学校を一時的に閉鎖することがあります。この場合、休講となったクラス、延長保育料、バス料金に対しての返金、クレジット及び振替レッスン等の対応はいたしません。
ランチサービスにつきましては、休校期間に該当するご家族にはクレジット対応をいたします。このクレジットは今後のJoy to the Worldでのサービスにご利用いただけます。
Joyファミリーの皆さまにおかれましては、私たちはスクールコミュニティの皆さまへのサービス提供を継続するため最善を尽くしますが、当校は安全性を非常に重視しており、このような理由により学校が閉鎖されました場合には、何卒ご了承のほどよろしくお願いいたします。

Cancellation Fees
After you make the full tuition payment, there is a tiered cancellation fee, see Fee Schedule for details.
This means that if you cancel after making your tuition payment, you can get a partial refund. If you do not cancel by the first day of the term, there is a 100% cancellation fee. (Cancellation fees are a percentage of the tuition paid, minus the non-refundable deposit.)
学費の全額をお支払いいただいた後はキャンセル料が発生致します。（下記チャートをご参照ください）これにより、学費全額をお支払いただいた後のキャンセルの場合は、お振込いただいた金額よりキャンセル料を引いた金額を返金いたします。
各学期の初日以降のキャンセルの場合は、キャンセル料が１００％となり返金はできませんのでご了承ください。（キャンセル料とは、お支払いただいた学費から返金不可のデポジット額を引いた金額に対してのパーセンテージとなります）
